Victoria Park Soccer Tournament. Camps Bay High School’s U19 First Team Soccer Boys conquered the competition at the Victoria Park Tournament in Gqeberha, bringing home the Plate Cup!
They kicked off the tournament with a stellar 3-0 victory against Woodbridge College, with Eminike Odumuko netting twice and Imange Stemela adding another. Eminike was also named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Facing Northridge next, the boys battled to a 0-0 draw, with Emihle Xala impressing as Player of the Match.
Despite a controversial match against Lawson Brown resulting in a temporary setback, the Camps Bay team fought back, winning the appeal and securing their spot in the Plate Cup.
In an epic display of skill and determination, they triumphed over Dale College (2-0) and also clinched the Plate Cup Final against Selbourne College (3-0). Goals were scored by Emihle, Imange and Eminike sealing the victory! Speaking of Eminike, he was named Player of the Tour for his remarkable tally of 5 goals in 5 games!
But the glory doesn’t end there! Camps Bay’s U16 Boys dominated, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament. They took home the coveted Cup! Leroy George, the U16 Boys Goalkeeper, earned the title of Goalkeeper of the Tournament for his flawless performance. Coach Bassier Ellis was rightfully named Coach of the Tournament!
Let’s not forget Camps Bay’s incredible First Team Soccer girls. They showcased their talent by topping their group and securing a spot in the semifinals!
A massive shoutout to the Camps Bay dedicated coaching staff, Mr. Shadley Williams, Mr. Shaquille Williams and Mr. Bassier Ellis as well as team managers, Mr. Nkululeko Zikhali, Mr. Kevin Jenneke, and Mrs. Chantel Sehnke, for making this journey an unforgettable experience for all involved!
