Grade 7 learner Daisy Sears spent the first term of 2020 at Union High School as one of this year’s Salisbury Exchange Students. She returned to the UK shortly before lockdown.
Look what she has been up to since:
Daisy Sears is running and cycling around 45 miles every week for two very good causes.
When 11 year old Daisy’s dad, who serves in the Army, was deployed to the Outer Hebrides at the start of lockdown to help the NHS she decided to set herself a challenge based on the distance between them.
A keen cyclist and county runner Daisy decided set herself a target of clocking up 671 miles to raise money for Little Troopers, the military children’s charity and Blood Cancer UK.
To reach her target the Salisbury Cathedral School pupil is going out every day to complete a 10K run or cycle, as well as juggling home learning.
With no exercise bike or treadmill in sight, Daisy is completing the whole challenge outside, whatever the weather.
She has even roped in some of her neighbours to join her for social distanced runs or to cycle alongside her if they can’t keep up!
