UCSA Valentine’s Picnic. The 16th of February was a rainy Wednesday. Fortunately, the rain ceased just in time for the UCSA’s annual Valentine’s Day Picnic.
Twenty five Group leaders and nearly 200 of ANHS’s learners participated in this lovely event. Each learner received a cooldrink, a packet of chips, a lollypop, and a heart-shaped biscuit at the picnic, but more importantly, they received God’s Word that afternoon.
ANHS’s well-equipped group leaders presented a love story from the Bible to their group members. The love story is from Genesis 24, the story of Isaac and Rebekah. The groups learnt that this story is symbolic for the greatest love story of all time: Christ and His Bride. They were taught how Abraham represents God the Father in the story, Abraham’s servant is the Holy Spirt, Rebekah is us as the Church (the Bride) and Isaac is Jesus the Son.
The lesson that the students took home was the following: We, as the Bride of Christ, should always be ready for the return of our Bridegroom, Jesus. We must live holy while waiting on Him, because we do not know the hour that He might return.
