Nine Treverton College athletes from Mooi River competed in the 20th edition of the Grey Invitational Athletics Meeting in Bloemfontein.
They represented the Pietermaritzburg/Durban Invitational Team. The meeting hosts 30 Co-ed teams from all over the country. Treverton athletes managed to bring home 3 medals which include Sethu Ngcobo, 1st place in the girls u17 Triple Jump with a new personal best and a new meeting record; Ryan Stockil, 1st place in the Boys u14 High Jump with a new personal best of 1:70m and Byron Barnard, 2nd place in the Boys u16 Javelin.
The rest of our achievements include:
- Gemma Hickenbotham, 4th place in Girls u16 Javelin with a new personal best and 7th place in Discus
- Michaela Licen, 4th in the Girls u15 200m, 6th in the 100m and 6th in the Triple Jump
- Luke Bydawell, 4th in the Boys u15 High Jump.
- Sandiswa Moya, 6th in Boys u14 400m
- Christin Minnaar, 6th in the girls u14 High Jump and 7th in the Girls u14 Long Jump.
- Lisa Skenjana gained valuable experience in the Girls u14 Shot Put placing 10th and
- Sethu Ngcobo, also finished 7th in the u17 Girls Long Jump and 400m with a new personal best in the 400m.
