If you’ve visited the Maritzburg College website, you’ve likely seen the photo above. Maybe you were planning a tour for a future College boy. Or perhaps you were checking in on how your alma mater has progressed. Either way, that image has probably become a familiar sight of then and now.
This photo has become important to College in recent years. Not because it shows standout leaders, sports stars, or top scholars. But because it captures a few broers, new to the school, wearing shoes too big and bashers still untouched by sunny Goldstones days. They are the ones who welcome future College families, helping parents decide where their sons will finish their school journey.
The photo was taken in 2021. Since then, four long years have passed. Years of team-testing, wild celebrations after tries, and legendary Zarms devoured at every chance. These five boys have climbed the College ladder. They’ve earned their stripes and decorated blazers.
