The highlight of the St Charles College calendar has always been our annual Speech Night and despite the Covid restrictions of 2020, this year was no different. Although we couldn’t all meet together in the Samukele Khumalo Arena, a broadcasted live stream of this auspicious event was put together. What resulted was an evening that was fit for celebrating all that the St Charles College community, and in particular the boys, have achieved over the past year.
While our Matric class of 2020 have missed out on many rites of passage this year, they enjoyed a memorable evening savouring the final formal function in their schooling careers. One of the highlights of the evening was the speech given by 2020 Head Boy, Sanele Mdingi. Seeing the College through the eyes of the Head Boy is an insightful experience and it is wonderful to hear of the memories he will cherish of his years at St Charles College.
The announcement of the 2021 prefect body was one of the most anticipated items on the programme. Congratulations to all those who were selected to be Prefects and Council Leaders. The top five selected to represent the College as Head Boy and Deputies are Daniel Jacobs (Head Boy), Banele Jiyane, Hunter Mason, Nkosinathi Dlamini and Hayden Raw.
