schoolsthatrockTayla Wilmot, a grade 8 pupil from St Andrew’s School for Girls, played in the Inter-Provincial Tennis Tournament from 16 to 19 March and was unbeaten in her 7 singles matches.
Tayla then played in the Tennis South Africa Super 8 Tournament on 21 March, where Tayla progressed through 5 rounds to reach the Final, beating 2 of the recently selected SA Schools players en route to the finals. Unfortunately she lost in 3 sets in the finals on Tuesday last week.
The Tennis South Africa Nationals Tournament started on Wednesday 28th March, with Tayla progressing through 5 rounds to reach the semi-finals today.
Unfortunately she was not able to win, however, she will still secure a minimum Top 4 finish in the Girls U14 Nationals Tournament.
The above should also ensure that Tayla improves on her current top 10 ranking and see her move higher up in the rankings.
