On Saturday 14 September 2019, St Andrew’s School for Girls hosted the 10th annual Spring Expo.
This community event has become a highly anticipated annual event with a number of stalls and many fun-filled activities. It was a truly enjoyable day for many individuals and families. This year St Andrew’s School for Girls was fortunate to receive support from FNB bank once again who played a key role in making the day a success. The event supports local businesses and trade, as well as benefits our internal stakeholders, such as our rowing club and the Matric Dance Committee, in their fundraising efforts.
The Spring Expo had over 100 stalls available, showcasing fashion items, children’s toys, motor car displays, interior decorating, gifts and many more. We also had fun activities for the children, such as a number of various inflatables and the ever-popular House of Horrors. There was also a food court catering for many culinary tastes. Our St Andrew’s girls and uBambiswano children (Saturday School) also ran their own stores as part of an entrepreneurial experience through Future Proof.
The annual official SA Schools’ Rowing ergothon once again took place at the Spring Expo and brought great excitement with over 400 entries on the day. The four Senior School houses of St Andrew’s battled it out on our squash courts for the coveted Interhouse Squash trophy.
The St Andrew’s School for Girls Spring Expo 2019 was a well-balanced event, providing a wide variety of treats and bargains and offering patrons an opportunity to experience the lush gardens and rich history of the school. Here’s to another worthwhile event at the Spring Expo 2020 next year.
