Sport – St Charles College from Pietermaritzburg represent the school at Provincial level in athletics, basketball and squash last weekend. Saints is very proud of Sam Ndlovu (Grade 12) who participated in the KZN Athletics Championships. It was held in Pietermaritzburg. Sam managed to win the U20 long jump, in 7.10m. This qualified him for the Athletics South Africa Schools National Championships in Germiston.
We wish him all the best! – Mr Rowan Irons (Director of Sport).
Patrick de Villiers
Congratulations to Patrick de Villiers (Grade 12) who has been selected, and played, for the KZN U18A Basketball team!
Last weekend, two of the boys participated in the prestigious Bloemfontein Open Squash Tournament. As a national qualifier, the tournament draws elite players from all provinces. This is an early indicator for national rankings. With draws of over 60 of the country’s top-ranked players in both age groups, Saints is extremely proud of their captain, Aphiwe Ndwandwe’s finish of 22. Notably some players who finished above Aphiwe are U19 and thus ineligible for SA Schools Selection. Congratulations to up-and-coming talent, Ruvay Ramdhin. Ruvay finished an impressive 23 in the U16 draw. – Mr Nick Nel
