Northwood’s seamers bowled with impressive discipline, giving nothing away and reducing the hosts to 33 for 5. Ryan van Zyl and Keegan Reeves each claimed two wickets in the early collapse.
Kearsney found some resistance through Luke Grobbelaar, who fought hard for his 36. However, once he was trapped LBW by James—who finished with outstanding figures of 3 for 15 and polished off the tail—the home side was dismissed for just 121.
With ball in hand, Kearsney struck early through opening bowlers Litha Gonya (2 for 27) and Michael Groom (1 for 16), reducing Northwood to 7 for 3 and later 38 for 4. At that stage, the match was delicately poised. Josh Mills steadied the innings with a well-compiled 36, but his dismissal at 60 for 5 kept the contest alive.
Thomas Oosthuizen then played a decisive innings, riding his luck but batting positively to top score with 44. Despite Mat Gorrie’s efforts (2 for 23), Northwood edged closer to the target. Hamza Amla’s composed 18 not out guided the visitors home, securing a 4-wicket victory.
