St Charles College from Pietermaritzburg, honoured their former Head Boy on Friday, 25 January 2019, at the official opening of the Samukele Khumalo Arena. In attendance were family and friends of the Khumalo family, members of the St Charles College Board, old boys, staff of the College, boys of the College and the 2008 First Team Basketball, who Samke led in 2008.
Speeches by our Principal, Mr Allen van Blerk and Operations Manager, Mr Stewart Bradford, set the tone for this celebration; however, it was the rendition of One of Us, by Sandi Khumalo, Samke’s sister which really stole the show.
The Samukele Khumalo Arena hosted Maritzburg College on Friday evening for its first official game.
