SAHRSA Safari Outdoor SA.
Kalahari Sport: Shooting
Cilje Salim participated in the SAHRSA Safari Outdoor SA Open & Top 30 Junior Trials on 9 & 10 May in Volksrust, Mpumalanga.
The Hunting Rifle Shooting competition is spread over two days, where the top shooters of our country had to use their skills to hit the targets and gongs from different positions. There is also only a limited time allowed for the different targets, which severely tested each shooter’s accuracy under pressure. In addition, the strong winds that blew on Saturday truly tested each participant’s ability to adapt. So much so that a few seasoned Springbok shooters were unable to score on some of the ranges. It was certainly a challenging two days, but Cilje still did extremely well with all the elements he had to navigate.
Ciljé achieved an impressive 3rd place among the top Junior shooters in our country.
He also qualified again as a team member of the SA Hunting Rifle Shooting Association’s SAHRSA Junior Open Class Invitational team to participate in the International Invitational Tournament which will take place from 13 to 16 August 2025 at the Langkloof Shooting Range, Tulpieskraal Farm, Joubertina, Eastern Cape.
