Paul Roos Gymnasium is proud to celebrate the selection of two of its standout rugby players, Altus Rabe and Gert Kemp, to the prestigious South African Under-18 rugby squad. These young talents will represent their country in the upcoming U18 International Series. This is a high-profile tournament featuring elite junior teams from Europe.

The series, hosted across top rugby schools in the Western Cape, will see South Africa face off against formidable opponents from France, Ireland, and England. With national pride on the line and scouts watching closely, the matches promise to be a thrilling showcase of future Springbok potential.

  • Friday, 8 August – Hoërskool Durbanville, Cape Town
    • 🕒 15:30 – South Africa U18 vs France U18
  • Tuesday, 12 August – Boland Landbou, Paarl
    • 🕒 13:30 – South Africa U18 vs Ireland U18
  • Saturday, 16 August – Paarl Gimnasium, Paarl
    • 🕒 15:30 – South Africa U18 vs England U18

Altus Rabe, a dynamic hooker, and Gert Kemp, a powerful loose forward, have both earned their spots through consistent performances and standout showings at Craven Week and other elite youth competitions. 🌍 About the U18 International Series

This annual series is a cornerstone of SA Rugby’s development pipeline, bridging the gap between schoolboy rugby and the Junior Springboks. Overseen by Junior Bok coach Kevin Foote and SA U18 head coach Lwazi Zangqa, the tournament offers young players a chance to test themselves against the best of Europe. Furthermore, it prepares them for future international careers.
