Eunice High School is beaming with pride as Grade 11 learner Claire Volschenk makes her mark in international hockey. Claire recently donned the green and gold, representing South Africa’s U17 Girls’ Hockey Team at the prestigious Allistar Fredericks Africa Challenge held in Sandton.
Facing off against Zimbabwe’s U18A Girls’ team in a thrilling four-match test series, the South African squad delivered a dominant performance—winning all four matches with scores of 4–0, 3–0, 4–0, and 5–0 to claim the coveted Allistar Fredericks Cup.
Claire made her presence felt in the second test, scoring a stunning goal that not only contributed to the team’s victory but also marked her first-ever goal for her country. With this achievement, she earned four official SA Caps, a milestone that signals her rising star in the sport.
👏 Congratulations, Claire! Your dedication, skill, and sportsmanship have made Eunice High—and South Africa—proud. We can’t wait to see where your hockey journey takes you next!
