- 100 m Breaststroke – silver
His results at the South African national junior championships:
- 100 m breaststroke – bronze

Adam’s love for swimming started at the age of 18 months/1 year. At the age of 8 his swimming took off and he knew that swimming was going to be his life. “I love swimming because you can travel the world, meet new people, go to new places that you would have never thought about going to before. It keeps you fit and healthy.”
Adam spends an average of 8 to 9 hours in the pool every week. He says that it feels amazing to have won so many medals recently. “I am so excited and hope there are many more medals to come.”
According to Adam the challenges that he came across in these competitions is that he use to get so nervous right before a race and he did not really know how to calm down. “I was always stressed before a big event.”
Big competitions at which he would love to participate in future, is the Segal’s (SA Nationals Short Course Championship) at the end of the year. He would also like to make the SA Olympic team in 2024.
Some advice he has for his peers who love swimming and wish to start competing: “You should really start swimming. It helps me when I’m stressed or angry. I just let it out all when I’m swimming, and swimming can keep you out of trouble. If you are trying to get/ keep fit, you will never go wrong with swimming.”
Adam wants to continue swimming when he completed his schooling. He wants to get a scholarship to the USA and go swim there.
