Rotary Interact Club. The new Rotary Interact Club leaders of Glenwood High School for 2023/2024 were named at assembly. Mr Rydal Spavins thanked the Interact team for their dedication and commitment. He named the members who showed dedication and went on to receive badges for their service the past year: Aaron Fields, Alesandro Davite, Atillahan Citlak, Chaz Hansen, Hendrik Bezuidenhout, Lihle Chipeya, Ntando Tshabalala, Reuben Walker, Sakhile Muller.

Mr Spavins also announced the executive committee:

Lihle received the presidential collar and then addressed the school:

“I’ve been having trouble sleeping because I’ve been thinking about what to say today. But now that I’m standing here in front of you, I’m excited to share my thoughts and say thank you for having me here. I know the year ahead may bring some challenges, but I’m ready to tackle them. The Interact Club is all about empowering young people to make a positive difference in their community through volunteerism, leadership development, and promoting understanding.

I truly believe that Interact is more than just a club. It’s a platform for us to make a positive impact in our communities and beyond. My goal is to create a space where every member can feel valued and inspired to contribute their unique talents and ideas. Our main goal is to make a positive impact in our community and help those in need. We’ll achieve this by organizing fundraising events, volunteering, and working on community service projects. As members of Interact, we can learn new skills, make new friends, and most importantly, make a difference in the world. I encourage all of you to get involved so that we can make a positive impact together.

I’m excited about what’s to come, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together. “
