Layla Harmen and Thato Mashego toured to Europe during the past June/July vacation.
A word from Layla:
“It was an amazing experience and definitely an opportunity of a lifetime. I never imagined that I would be competing at an International level, let alone walk the streets of Europe.
I was selected for the Split Seconds Elite Athletics tour to Europe. This opportunity is aimed at developing athletes at the highest level with some of the very best coaches South Africa can offer.
During the tour we visited some of the extraordinary sites Europe has to offer. We toured to France, Switzerland and Germany.
We participated in various international meetings and met many international athletes, including our own Caster Semenya.
I will forever cherish the memories of this experience. I have already started implementing my learning to further my athletics journey.”

• 400m Sprint, 7th Place at 56.00 seconds and 3rd Place at 51.93 seconds
