Over the past weekend Rachel and Emma Shannon from St Andrew’s School for Girls in Bedfordview, participated in the Central Gauteng Athletics Track and Field Sub-Youth (7/9/11/13/15) Provincial Championships at Ruimsig Athletics Stadium. Rachel won bronze in the U13 High Jump, a Silver in the U13 Long Jump (with a personal best distance of 5,02m), and a Gold in the U13 75m Hurdles. Emma won a Silver in the U13 75m Hurdles. Both girls have been selected to represent Central Gauteng at the Inter-Provincial Championships which will be held in the Pilditch Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday, 18 November 2017.
