This weekend 6 of Point High School, Mossel Bay, learners participated at the Eskom Science Expo in George at the Nelson Mandela University. The event took place on Friday 3 August and Saturday 4 August. There were 44 projects from 7 different schools in the Eden Karoo District. Point High School was the only school in Mosselbaai who participated.

Bronze medal winners:
Ammaarah Williams with her project āMan vs Carsā which focused on effect of selfdriving cars on the safety of people.
Siphesihle Johnson with her project on āOne life = 7 livesā which focused on organ donation.
Lunje Mengezeleli with her project āBright lightā which dealt with the making of lamp shades that enhances and reflects light.
Ilin Duangchan with her project āSleeping beautyā which focused on the effect tranquillisers might have on home intruders/ robbers.
Gold medal winners:
Hansie Barnard with āAsh Trolleyā which is a trolley that can be used on the beach for beach clean-ups.
Nikita Valerie Schutte with āAre we the generation that canāt do Maths?ā which focused on the different factors that influende maths results.
Learners who will represent Eden Karoo at the International Eskom Science Expo in Boksburg are Hansie Barnard and Nikita Schutte.
