schoolsthatrockPietermaritzburg Girls’ High School will be hosting the 27th Annual Val Fowler Schools’ Basketball Tournament this weekend.
A total of 24 teams from 16 schools will play in matches hosted at both Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School and St. John’s Diocesan School for Girls. Schools as far as Free State, Gauteng and even Zimbabwe will be participating in this event.
One of the highlights of the Tournament will be the exhibition of unique skills by “Rim Rumblers” from the Hoops Afrique Foundation, made up of NBA players. The exhibition will take place on Saturday 4 August at 12:00 at Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School.
The tournament beings on Friday, 3 August from 14:30 at both venues and the finals will be played on Sunday at GHS; B- section at 10:00 and A-Section at 12:00. The pressure will be on defending champions, GHS.
Spectators are welcome. Learners representing their schools must be in full school uniform.
