Rachael Rose Job was awarded the Blunt Family Dux Award for first in Grade 12 at Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School during their Senior Speech Day. Rachael attended GHS since 2014. Her high school career has been characterized by her calm, mature manner and her ability to take all challenges in her stride. She has maintained an outstanding academic record and has been placed first in grade each year.
She has received a variety of subject prizes including English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics, Information Technology, Physical and Life Sciences and has also been awarded Academic Colours and Honours.
Rachael has involved herself in a range of extra mural activates, namely swimming, the Enviro-Care and Recycling Societies and been a Library and Computer monitor. As a junior she played Waterpolo and from Grade 9 to 11 she was a member of the Representative Council of Learners. This year she served on the Enviro-Care committee and as Swimming Captain. She was elected a Prefect and Deputy Head Girl and had proved to be a well-organised and responsible leader.
On a more personal note, Rachael reads very widely and enjoys writing, and her dream is to write a book. She gives great credit and much appreciation to her teachers for helping her achieve her goal of being accepted to study Actuarial Science at Stellenbosch University 2019.
