Layla Parak is the Dux for 2019 at Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School.
Layla was the Head Peer Tutor for 2019, an active member of the Interact and Enviro-Care committees, a member of the Representative Council of Learners and part of the photography society. She is an active participant in all areas of the school and has maintained an excellent balance between academics and extra-murals.
She is meticulous, hardworking learner who has achieved an aggregate this year of 92.8%. She is an insightful, sharp, quick individual with a high aptitude for math and science, she has taken Advanced Programme Maths and her aggregate for both, since grade 10, she has never been lower than 90%.
Layla has been accepted at UCT next year and has been offered a partial scholarship to study Civil Engineering.
