Die 1ste tennisspan van Paul Roos Gimnasium in Stellenbosch, het die afgelope naweek skoonskip gemaak by die 12de Boland Landbou Tennisfees wat in die Paarl “Op die Plaas” aangebied was. Paul Roos wat vir die 1ste keer genooi was om aan hierdie tennisfees deel te neem, het al hul wedstryde gewen en het in die finaal met die gasheer, Boland Landbou afgereken.

Die Paul Roos span was verteenwoordig deur Wikus Robbertse, Ruben Fortuin, Jean Durand, Andre du Plessis, Hugo Kotze, Emile Brand, Stefan Eckley en Lehan Engelbrecht. Die 12 skole wat aan die toernooi deel geneem het, was in 4 groepe in gedeel. Paul Roos het al sy wedstryde in die groep fase oortuigend gewen. In die semi-finaal het Oakdale met groot mening gekom en die Paul Roos span moes alles uithaal om die wedstryd te wen. In die finaal was Paul Roos egter te sterk vir Boland Landbou en het die wedstryd oortuigend met 8 – 0 gewen.

Paul Roos wen Marlow 12 – 0

Paul Roos wen Oakdale 7 – 5

Paul Roos wen Boland Landbou 8 – 0

Die volgorde waarin die 12 deelnemende skole klaar gemaak het is as volg:

  3. Oakdale
  4. Paarl Gimnasium
  5. Durbanville
  6. Paarl Boishaai
  7. HTS Middelburg
  8. Marlow
  9. Midstream College
  10. Wynberg
  11. Pearson
  12. Bredasdorp

Baie geluk aan die 1ste span met hierdie uitstekende vertoning.
