Opera-tunity knocks extravaganza. You’re invited to a comedic, over-the-top romp filled with musical shenanigans, perfectly suiting an operatic parody at Opera-tunity knocks extravaganza.
The Kearsney College choir, orchestra and drama department are collaborating with local theatre gems Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert to present a fun extravaganza of cabaret and comedy.
The show will feature music from the movies The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Godfather and Kill Bill. This is a tranquil Celtic meditation by composer Karl Jenkins, as well as pop-anthems from the 80s (Madonna), 90s (Michael Jackson) and naughties (Muse).
One of the University of KZN Opera School’s brightest stars, Zee Madiyata, will provide some opera delights. He will be joined on stage and accompanied by the Kearsney boys.
The unique performance is scheduled for next Tuesday and Wednesday (13 and 14 May) in the Henderson Hall at Kearsney. Bookings are via Quicket.
