Rethabile Sindi from Northern Cape High School received the school’s highest award. Learners only receive this award for winning on a national level. She was also the chair lady of the school’s Executive Committee.

- On The Tip of Your Tongue public speaking competition (2019): National winner in the motivational speech division. She received the school’s highest award, honours, for this achievement. This competition took place on 3 October 2019 in Centurion.

- On The Tip of Your Tongue public speaking competition 2020 (virtual competition). Stethen took part in the national round of the unprepared speech division – 1 hour prep time. He received full colours for this achievement.
- He also took part in the Golden Tongue division where participants have 5 minutes to prepare a speech. Stethen achieved first position in South Africa . He received a white blazer (honours) from the school for this excellent achievement.
- Stethen took part in the De Beers English Olympiad this year. He was awarded a silver certificate and received half colours for this achievement.
- Stethen entered the 2020 South African Maths Foundation Olympiad. He went through to the 2nd round and did well. He received Highly Commended at the school’s colour ceremony for this achievement.
