schoolsthatrockThe athletics season is in full swing at New Hanover Prep! This time of year sees their athletes competing in the various athletics events and meetings. Their Inter-house Athletics day was held on Saturday, 3 August. The children have been practicing for the various events for a number of weeks and this event is always a highlight for them.
The following records were broken:
Open Boys’ 1200m – Bayanda Ndawonde
U7 boys’ 50m (equalled) – Jade Wolhuter
Mixed U8 50m relay – Rietbok
Award winners were as follows:
Junior Victrix Ludorum: Jade van Breda
Junior Victor Ludorum: Rory Schirge
Senior Victrix Ludorum: Melissa Dobeyn
Senior Victor Ludorum: Juan Jansen van Reynsburg
Duiker won the spirit cup, and Rietbok won the athletics trophy with 766 points to Duiker’s 688.
