National Men’s Squash. Ross Smorfitt Steps Up Against National Men’s Players.
From January 24–26, York High School’s rising squash star Ross Smorfitt showcased his talent at the PSA George Open, a prestigious Professional Squash Association event.
Building on an exceptional 2025 season, where he secured the position of South Africa’s No. 2 in the under-16 category, Ross continues to make his mark on the national stage. His performances reflect not only his technical skill but also his determination to advance in senior competition.
This afternoon, 29 January, Ross faces a formidable challenge in the PSA Diaz Tournament, going head-to-head with John Andersen, currently ranked 11th among South Africa’s top men’s players. The match promises to be a test of Ross’s growing ability to compete against seasoned national talent and a chance to further solidify his reputation as one of the country’s brightest young prospects.
