schoolsthatrockMsukaligwa Skaaktoernooi. Hoërskool Ermelo het die Msukaligwa-skaaktoernooi op Maandag, 31 Julie, aangebied. Drie hoërskole van Ermelo het aan die toernooi deelgeneem: Hoërskool Ermelo, Ligbron Akademie vir Tegnologie en Netherland Park Secondary School. Elke skool het ‘n span in die volgende kategorieë ingeskryf: A-liga o.15- en o.17-span, asook ’n B-liga span.
Die middag was ‘n groot sukses en die toernooi het in goeie gees verloop. EHS se o.15-span het tweede geëindig en die o.17-span en B-ligaspan het derde geëindig. Mnr Maarten van Schalkwyk en Otto van Schalkwyk het as arbiters tydens die toernooi opgetree.
Die Gert Sibande-skaaktoernooi vind op 7 Augustus te Hoërskool Secunda plaas.
Msukaligwa Chess Tournament. Ermelo High School hosted the Msukaligwa Chess Tournament on Monday, July 31. Three high schools from Ermelo also participated in the tournament: Ermelo High School, Ligbron Tegnologie and Netherland Park Secondary School. Each school entered a team in the following categories: A-league u.15 and you.17 team, as well as a B-league team.
The afternoon was also a great success, and the tournament went on in good spirits. EHS’s under-15 team finished second and the under-17 team and B league team finished third. Mr Maarten van Schalkwyk and Otto van Schalkwyk acted as arbitrators during the tournament.
The Gert Sibande Chess Tournament will also take place on 7 August at Secunda High School.
