Grantleigh College proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Grade 9 learner Nolwandle Mnkonyeni, who has been selected to join the KwaZulu-Natal Youth Orchestra (KZNYO) for 2026. This honour highlights not only her remarkable musical talent but also her unwavering dedication to refining her craft.
Nolwandle is an integral member of several of the school’s ensembles, including the Grantleigh Band, Marimba Band, and College Choir. Her enthusiasm, discipline, and strong work ethic have made her a dependable contributor to every performance. Over the years, her musical ability has flourished, and her selection for KZNYO marks a proud milestone for both Nolwandle and the school community.
Earlier this year, Nolwandle was awarded a Black Raven Award at Curro Create in recognition of her creativity, technical skill, and expressive artistry. Her passion for music continues to grow, and she will be pursuing Music as a formal subject next year—an exciting step in her evolving journey as a young musician.
Grantleigh College applauds this inspiring accomplishment and looks forward to witnessing Nolwandle’s continued success as she represents both the school and KwaZulu-Natal on this prestigious provincial stage.
