Junior Water Polo. Kearsney College – Water Polo Triumphs in Australia.
Kearsney College proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of its water polo players. The boys represented South Africa at Australia’s premier national junior water polo event in Brisbane during the April holidays.
SA Schools U18 – Gold Medal Glory
- Max Mills, Tom Aylward, and Tom Francke were part of the SA Schools U18 team that clinched gold in the Gold Section of the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships.
- In a nail-biting final against Sydney’s SNB Breakers, the South Africans triumphed 15–14 after penalties, showcasing resilience and composure under pressure.
SA Schools U16 – Fighting Spirit and Success
- Cristiano Sandri and Dru Mills shone as members of the SA Schools U16 team, who first secured gold in the U18 Boys Green Division before stepping up to compete in the U16 Boys Gold Division.
- The team went unbeaten through the group stages and powered through the quarter- and semi-finals. In the final, they faced a formidable Sydney University side and narrowly lost 12–14 in a hard-fought battle.
Individual Excellence
- Dru Mills distinguished himself as the top goalscorer for South Africa, netting an incredible 22 goals across the tournament.
These achievements highlight not only the talent and determination of our athletes but also the strength of Kearsney College’s water polo program. We are immensely proud of their success on the international stage.
