Junior city councillor. Kirsten Wyld is a learner from Curro Century City in Cape town. She was the first learner from Curro Century City elected to join the junior city council.
On the 8th of June 2024, Kirsten was voted in by her fellow junior city councillors as Junior Chief Whip. On that day, the elections itself was monitored by the IEC, and the Deputy Mayor Eddie Andrews came to speak to the councillors. According to Kirsten the role itself is challenging in the sense of the workload but its something that she is very grateful for. She replied: “I never thought I would learn so much in such a short amount of time.”Â
