schoolsthatrockWestern Cape Canoe Championships. Jared Shrimption in Grade 8 and Holly Smith in Grade 10 from Camps Bay High School, competed in the Western Cape Canoe Union 2022 Junior Sprint Championships at Paarl Canoe Club last Saturday, 9th April.
Both Holly and Jared finished in first place in their divisions. Jared came first in all of his U14 K1 (single) races where he raced over 1000m, 500m, 200m and long distance.
In addition, Jared with his partner, Ryley Smith, came first in all of their K2 (doubles) races, that being 1000m, 500m and 200m
Holly also took part in WP K1 sprints and won the Girls U16 section. She and Jared are now both training incredibly hard for the SA School Sprints in two weeks time as well as the SA Surf Ski Champs on 1 May.
