Glenwood High School, Durban, welcomed it newest crop of international swimmers into their fold on Wednesday. The squad comprises 2 male and 3 female swimmers from Hungary who will spend their days either training under the guidance of Glenwood’s Head coach, Graham Hill or studying in the Cambridge Facility.
Graham is also the National and Olympic coach and is looking forward to putting the youngsters through their paces.
Glenwood subscribes to a different swimming philosophy than most schools. Although they compete in the inter-school galas, their ambition is to create athletes who will compete on the international stage at Youth, Junior or Senior levels.
After the success of the Indian contingent, Glenwood is keen to see how the Hungarians measure up to the local talent.
Glenwood and Graham now have their eyes set on China and Zimbabwe for 2021.
We wish the happy Hungarians all the best as well as coach Graham as they head into a busy swim season.
