The 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games, officially known as the III Summer Youth Olympic Games, and commonly known as Buenos Aires 2018, is a forthcoming international sports, cultural, and educational event that will be hosted in Buenos Aires, Argentina between October 6 and October 18, 2018. It will be the first Summer Youth Olympic Games to be held in the Southern Hemisphere, the first outside of Asia, and the first Youth Games for either summer or winter to be held outside Eurasia.
Glenwood boys, Karan Kotaraju (Grade 12) and Tiago Cordeiro (Grade 12) have qualified for the Youth Olympics, as well as old boy Aryan Makija.
Karan and Tiago will participate in the XXXVIth International Swimming Meeting of Monte Carlo which will take place on the 16th and 17th of June 2018, and will be the first step of the MARE NOSTRUM TOUR. Karan will go on to compete in the Indian Nationals. Tiago will also compete in the 2018 European Junior Championships, 4th – 8th July 2018, Helsinki, FINLAND and then the Portugal Nationals.
Aryan is currently studying Sport Science at UKZN; he will also participate in the Mare Nostrum and then go on to compete in the Indian Nationals.
