Jarred Bauristhene (Gr11) and Keegan Bauristhene (Gr10), from Glenwood High School, have been selected to represent their district PNB at the upcoming Inter-District Annual Bowls Tournament for Under 15s & 20s to be held in Bloemfontein April 2018.
Whilst these boys are only 16 years old they have gone above and beyond to prove their capabilities. The boys started bowling a mere 2 years ago. Jarred finished in the final 8 of the Novice Singles 2017 amongst 130 entries of which he was the youngest. Jarred and his brother are currently in the final 32 of the Novice Singles 2018 and will play their next round this coming Saturday 27 January 2018 at Durban Bowling Club Greyville.
As this sport has been in the past recognized as a sport for the older generation this has since seen a drastic change over the past couple of years with students as young as Under 15 now competing and proving quite the worthy opponents to adult competitors.
