Glenwood U14 and U15 boys participated in the Energade 5-aside KZN Schools Tournament at Kloof High School on 2 September 2018.
The Glenwood U14 and U15 boys walked away victors of this Tournament.
This is a fast-paced variety of the game, soccer’s version of Sevens Rugby, or T20 cricket, with matches only being 8 minutes long. The teams consisted of 5 players on the field and 80 teams went head-to-head competing for the first prize. It was an action packed day!
Schools that participated stretched as far south as Port Shepstone High, as far north as Eshowe High and as far inland as Michaelhouse and everywhere in-between.
Bobby Deutshcman was the organiser of this event, the eighteenth year and the first time it was held at Kloof High. He added “It’s highly competitive, but lots of fun, this is a sport that can be enjoyed by all.
A big thanks must go to the sponsors – Energade, Umbro and Primo. Without them this event wouldn’t have been possible!”
