Glenwood High School, Durban, has 4 representatives on Durban Youth Council. Grade 11 learners of various Durban high schools are provided with the opportunity to become involved with the community through service. The Durban Youth Council (DYC) is a non-profit organisation that serves the community by empowering youth.
These learners however become involved in the latter part of their grade 10 year. The learners take part in meetings and tasks that are designed for orientation purposes so everyone becomes familiar with each other. In doing so, they become aware of the expectations and demands of being a DYC representative. Following these weekly activities, elections are conducted to appoint the executive board for the following year.
Glenwood High School has 4 representatives for the 2018 year of which 2 are on the DYC executive board.
Blaine Golden – Council Manager
Matthew Vieira – Treasurer
Luke Barnwell – Council Member
Adam Hunter – Council Member
Glenwood High School wishes these young gentlemen a successful 2018 year, and we are positive they will fulfil their respective duties to DYC.
