Kingswood 1st XV rugby players James and Josh Mackenzie were thrilled to seize a remarkable opportunity this week: holiday training with the Glasgow Warriors ahead of their clash against the Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday.
The brothers’ connection to Scotland runs deep. Last year, they participated in Kingswood’s Scottish Exchange Program, where they attended school and trained with local rugby teams. That experience made this week’s call-up to join the Glasgow squad in Johannesburg especially meaningful.
The Mackenzies described the training sessions as both inspiring and invaluable, offering them fresh insights and motivation as they prepare for the upcoming Grey Rugby Festival. Kingswood College will face St Charles College on 25 April and St Stithians College on 27 April, fixtures that promise to showcase the team’s skill and determination.
