FS Talent Honoured. The Free State has a wealth of young sporting talent. The province is often referred to as a breeding ground for stars in the country. The top FS talent school athletes were honoured at the Free State Sport Stars in Bloemfontein.
The event, presented by the University of the Free State (UFS), honours school achievers for performances on a national level from 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2022.
Ntshopa Mokoena, learner from Bethlehem Voortrekker High School, was hounoured for her hockey achievements.
Top athletes honoured. The Free State Sport Stars dinner honoured the best sportsmen and women with disabilities in the province. Kristiaan Klopper from BVHS was honoured for athletics – shot put and discus, U20 F64. He participated in the SASAPD National Championships for first time and claimed two medals (shot put and discus). He threw SA records in both – in shot put 9.19 m and discus 28.21 m.
