schoolsthatrockFichie Netbal. Ané Retief is ‘n oud-Fichie, hoofdogter van 2016 en tans Fichie netbal afrigter. Sy is genooi om vanaf 9 Februarie tot 20 Februarie, die Nasionale Netbalspan, die Proteas, in Australië te verteenwoordig. Die hoofafrigter van die Proteas, Norma Plummer, het vier opwarmingswedstryde teen die onderskeie spanne van Australië gereël. Dit sluit in die Melbourne University Lighting, Baroondara Express, Melbourne Vixens en die 0/19 Victorian State Team.
Hierdie oefengroep/ opwarmingstoer is alles ter voorbereiding vir die netbal Wêrelbeker wat later vanjaar van 28 Julie tot 6 Augustus in Kaapstad aangebied word.
Ané het die volgende opgemerk: “Dis my eerste geleentheid om die Protea-span te verteenwoordig, iets waarvoor ek al lank werk. Ek is baie dankbaar en opgewonde vir die geleentheid om my passie op internasionale vlak uit te leef en so ook meer te leer.”
Fichie Netball. Ané Retief is a former Fichie, head girl of 2016 and currently Fichie netball coach. She was invited to represent the National Netball team, the Proteas, in Australia from 9 February to 20 February. Proteas head coach Norma Plummer organised four warm-up matches against the respective teams of Australia. These also include the Melbourne University Lighting, Baroondara Express, Melbourne Vixens and the U19 Victorian State Team.
This training squad/warm-up tour is also in preparation for the netball World Cup to be held in Cape Town later this year from 28 July to 6 August.
Ané remarked the following: “This is my first opportunity to represent the Protea team, something I have been working on for a long time. I am also very grateful and excited for the opportunity to live out my passion internationally and learn more.”
