Curro Westbrook. From the day when Curro Westbrook opened their doors in 2014, under the amazing leadership of their Executive head, Mr Frans van der Walt, the school has grown from strength to strength, and they will continue to rise and shine!
Curro Westbrook is an independent school in the new Westbrook Estate. The school accommodate learners from 3 months to Grade 11 in 2022). The school is developing at a magnificent pace. They currently have 598 learners on the campus. Popular for their progressive 21st-century learning and teaching methods, Curro Westbrook is a thriving school. The school offers a stimulating and exciting programme, including Robotics, with a highly dedicated and experienced team of teachers. They follow a structured, well-planned and balanced curriculum. School hall
The school hall construction is booming on site! This is definitely going to be the game changer for Curro Westbrook this year. They look forward to hosting so many memorable events in the multi-functional school hall in 2021.
In the Foundation Phase they start building the fundamental building blocks of the children’s futures. At Curro they offer Robotics, Science, Abuti (conversational Xhosa) which is all taught by their Foundation Phase Grade educators. The school has an IT teacher, Phys Ed teacher, an Art Teacher and also a Music teacher. The staff goes the extra mile for the learners and always has the children’s best interests at heart.
High School
The first stage of the High School facility will be completed by the end of 2021. It will accommodate the continued growth in learner numbers that they are experiencing. Currently the school supports Grade 8-10, each with a maximum capacity of 25 learners per class. They are looking forward to extending the offering to Grade 11 in 2022 and finally seeing their first matric class walk through in 2023. The High School development will continue to support this annual growth towards becoming a “One of a kind” High School in the metro. The school offers an extensive subject offering that ensures each learner is able to pursue a path that supports their personal interests as much as possible. If a subject cannot be offered face-to-face, then the curriculum is further extended with an online subject offering that is still facilitated on-site.

Some of the academic value-adds include a fully equipped modern-feel science lab and an IT lab kitted out with modern technology. The school also has a steamd classroom (equipped with Drones, 3D Printers, Laser Cutters and Virtual Reality), and a dedicated Visual Arts classroom. Each subject offers its own unique specialisation. The dedicated teachers and well-rounded approach prepare learners for the IEB examinations at the end of Grade 12. The enriched academic curriculum is actively supplemented by traditional sporting and cultural extra-murals. They also have a strong focus on the development of strong leadership potential in all of their learners. Their goal is to have the learners become assets to their communities and step into their tertiary studies brimming with confidence and a love for learning.
Nursery school
The nursery school, Curro Castle Westbrook, offers an integrated play-based programme to learners from 3 months to 5 years. They offer sensory play, holistic development of the child, safe, secure and friendly environment, dedicated and loving teachers. Included in the fees are breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack, and aftercare until 17:30. They also offer Monkeynastix as part of our kinaesthetic integration into the curriculum. The Castle is the heart of the Campus where every child’s developmental adventure begins. The school forms their foundation and the people laying down the learning cornerstones and bricks one after another is the group of resilient, ever evolving teachers and assistants.
