Curro Roodeplaat. Curro Holdings, the JSE-listed independent school group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Alta Theunissen as the Executive Head of Curro Roodeplaat.
Theunissen is both a familiar and popular figure within the Curro organisation. Alta is also popular within the wider Roodeplaat community. She held the position of Head of Curro Roodeplaat Primary School since 2015. During her successful tenure, she oversaw the primary school’s academic excellence. She also supervised extra-mural activities and sporting successes as well as general administration. Her extensive experience and her deep affinity for the Roodeplaat community makes her the ideal person to lead both the primary and high schools.
Commenting on the new promotion, Shaun McMurtry, Business Executive at Curro Holdings said “We would like to congratulate Alta Theunissen on her promotion. She has an outstanding commitment to all aspects of life at Curro Roodeplaat. Her passion for working with people of all ages and pursuit of excellence cannot be overestimated. We strongly believe she is the ideal candidate to now lead the school into a bright and exciting new era of opportunity and growth.”
Theunissen enjoys a long and rewarding teaching career. She has held several leadership positions within the Curro group before joining Curro Roodeplaat Primary School. Included is the post of head of department of the intermediate phase at Curro’s Northern Academy Primary from 1999 to 2011. In 2012 Alta was the operational head of Curro Northern Academy.
