schoolsthatrockCricket. Aliwal North High School first Cricket team played a 30 over match against Middelburg High School, and what a match it was! Middelburg won the toss and decided to bowl first. Alies batted well but struggled during the middle session of the innings.
ANHS were bowled out for 105 runs after 24 overs. The best batsmen for Alies were Logan Geldenhuys with 29 and Wium Smit with 14 runs.
Then it was Alies’ turn to bowl. They started very well taking the first 5 wickets for only 29 runs! ANHS struggled to keep this up and Middelburg did well to keep their heads and rebuild again. They only succeeded in getting the next wicket with their score on 90! But good bowling at the depth helped to secure victory in the end.
The best bowlers were Logan Geldenhuys with 4 wickets in 6 overs, Regard Vorster with 3 wickets in 3 overs and Okuhle Dyani with 2 wickets in 3 overs.
ANHS won the cricket match with 10 runs.
Congratulations to all the boys who really played their hearts out.
