Cricket Capping Ceremony. On Thursday afternoon, 7 October, St Charles College, Pietermaritzburg, held a very special cricket capping ceremony for their Prep 1st XI. For both players and coaches alike, it was a privilege to be a part of.
Gathering in the Oval changerooms, each of the players sat next to a Senior School 1st XI player. The Senior School 1st XI coach, Mr Murray Cole-Edwardes, and his Captain, Hayden Raw, both gave inspiring speeches to the boys before presenting them their caps and shirts. St Charles’ Prep 1st team captain, Thandolwethu Zama was then asked to hang the blue blazer up in the changerooms – a moment he will surely remember for the rest of his life.
“It was the perfect occasion as we resume inter-school fixtures and a fitting reminder of how special our Saints family is.”
– Mr Gregg Cole-Edwardes (Head of Prep Sport)
