Chamber Choir. The Chamber Choir of St Charles College is excited about their tour to Cape Town over the midterm weekend. The tour will include three performances across Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at the Music HQ in Wynberg, The Gardens Presbyterian Church and Die Groote Kerk, respectively. The choir is incredibly excited about our performance at Groote Kerk. This church is South Africa’s oldest place of Christian worship, originally built in 1678 and revamped in 1841.
The tour will be filled with many opportunities to learn, including working and performing with the Cape Town Camerata Choir conducted by Leon Starker. They will also be attending a workshop with the Head of Vocal Studies, Paulina Malefane, at the University of Cape Town, as well as visits to museums and tourist attractions. St Charles College Chamber Choir is looking forward to this fantastic opportunity.
The fifteen boys will be accompanied by Mr Pierre Frenzel (Head of Music) and Ms Kristen Wepener, who has led the choir to outstanding achievements, including a gold at the eisteddfod. – Ms Simone Zartmann (Head of Culture).
