Cape Peninsula Cricket Week. The Cape Peninsula Cricket Week is once again delivering top-class cricket action, with St Charles College U15A and 1st XI teams showcasing their skill and determination as they prepare for an exciting season ahead.
With the first three rounds of matches completed, both teams have proven their mettle against top opponents, including SACS, Bishops, and yesterdays clash with Potchefstroom Gymnasium.
U15A Highlights
The U15A team has shown moments of brilliance, with a standout performance from Matthew Buckley, who claimed an incredible 5 wickets for just 38 runs against SACS.
Despite a strong team effort, they narrowly fell short in a hard-fought game against Potch.
1st XI Highlights
St Charles College’ 1st XI has delivered edge-of-your-seat cricket, battling through two nail-biting encounters against SACS and Bishops. Yesterday, they turned up the heat, defeating Potch by 5 wickets in an impressive display of grit and talent.
- Thando Zama is in red-hot form, smashing two half-centuries so far.
- Caleb Sharp sealed the victory yesterday with a brilliant unbeaten 50, expertly supported by Rowen Rajah, St Charles’ recently selected KZN Cubs U19 player, as they overcame a formidable Potch Gim side.
- Keegan Vermaak picked up an excellent 4 for to restrict Potch Gim.
Today, 10 January, both teams head to Stellenbosch to take on the mighty Paul Roos Gymnasium. The college wish the boys the very best as they continue to rise to the challenge.
