Biathle/Triathle World Championships. Pearson High School Shines at UIPM 2025 Biathle/Triathle World Championships.

Mossel Bay recently welcomed athletes from 34 countries to the UIPM 2025 Biathle/Triathle World Championships. Over three thrilling days, competitors of all ages showcased speed, endurance, and determination across both disciplines, despite challenging conditions.

South Africa rose to the occasion as the host nation. The country delivered outstanding performances, highlighting the growing depth of local talent on the international stage. Pearson High School athletes played a key role in Team SA’s success. They returned home with two gold medals and earned two prestigious Protea Colours.

Standout Performances

  • John Vosloo (U19 Men) John delivered an exceptional individual race, finishing 4th in the world. His performance was instrumental in securing team gold for South Africa, with his top-three finish among SA athletes ensuring the nation’s victory. India claimed silver. In recognition of his achievement, John was awarded his Protea Colours for Biathle.
  • Elné Reynolds (U19 Women) Competing in a highly competitive field, Elné finished 16th in the world. Her dedication and perseverance earned her Protea Colours for Biathle, a well-deserved honour reflecting her commitment and hard work in preparation for the event.
  • Jakobus Reynolds (U15 Boys) Facing a powerful field, Jakobus impressed by finishing 2nd in both his heat and semi-final, before securing 5th place in the world in the finals. His strong performance contributed to another team gold for South Africa, crossing the line as the third SA athlete.

A Proud Moment for Pearson

The achievements of John, Elné, and Jakobus are a testament to the commitment, passion, and countless hours of training invested by Pearson athletes. Their success not only brought glory to Team SA but also showcased the strength of Pearson High School’s sporting culture on the world stage.
