Badminton Championships. Celebrating Excellence: Juntian David Yang Shines in Sport and Music.
Rondebosch Boys’ High School is delighted to congratulate Juntian David Yang, Grade 9, on his outstanding achievements in two demanding disciplines—badminton and classical piano.
🏸 Badminton Brilliance. Juntian recently competed in the South Africa U19 Opens and Inter-Provincial Badminton Championships. The championships were held in Cape Town from July 12 to 19, 2025. Facing older and more experienced opponents, he battled his way to the semi-finals in the Boys’ Singles. His resilience and sportsmanship also earned him the coveted “Player of Heart” Trophy. Without a doubt, it is a tribute to his determination and spirit on the court.
🎹 Musical Mastery Juntian’s talents extend far beyond the badminton arena. In May/June, he was named runner-up in the 14–16 years category at the Western Cape Piano Festival Competition, held at Westerford High School. He also delivered standout performances in both the Baroque and Romantic categories at the Stellenbosch Eisteddfod, earning Cum Laude honors for each.
Looking Ahead Juntian is now also preparing for two prestigious national competitions:
- The Atterbury National Piano Competition, taking place in Pretoria from 22–26 October 2025
- The National Youth Music Competition, scheduled for 1–6 December 2025 at Endler Hall, Stellenbosch
We wish Juntian continued success as he pursues excellence in both sport and music. His dedication, talent, and humility are truly inspiring.
👏 Well done, Juntian! You make us proud.
