Aquatics Zone 4 Swimming. 🏊♂️ Pearson High School’s Nicholas Pretorius Makes Waves in Africa Aquatics Championships.
Pearson High School is beaming with pride as one of its own, Nicholas Pretorius, delivered a stellar performance at the prestigious Africa Aquatics Zone IV Swimming Championships. The championships were held in Manzini, Eswatini from 3–7 September 2025.
Representing South Africa, Nicholas competed in the Boys 15/16 age group. Nicholas emerged as the Victor Ludorum, the highest individual honor awarded to the top-performing swimmer in his category. His medal haul included an astonishing five gold medals, one bronze, and a jaw-dropping four championship records. He also cemented his status as one of the continent’s rising stars in the pool.
Nicholas also played a pivotal role in the South African relay team. He contributed to their success with one gold and two bronze medals, showcasing not only individual brilliance but also team spirit and national pride.
“Nicholas’s achievements are a testament to his dedication, discipline, and passion for swimming,” said a spokesperson from Pearson High School. “We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and look forward to seeing where his journey takes him next.”
The Africa Aquatics Championships brought together elite swimmers from across Southern and Eastern Africa. Over 34 records were shattered during the event. Nicholas’s performance stood out among fierce competition. His name now joins the ranks of South Africa’s most promising young athletes.
