ANHS Rugby. On Saturday, 7 May, ANHS rugby players travelled to Cradock to take on the Cradock rugby teams. The day was a grueling one and both schools bared their teeth, ready for action!
ANHS U/14 team lost 12 – 0 against a far weaker Cradock team. They had all the opportunities they needed but could not find each other on the day.
ANHS U/15 team beat Cradock 36 – 5. They played well and dominated Cradock in all aspects. Tries were scored by Esona Marks, Keyshaun Basson, Lutho Silele, Kamva Sithole, Likuwe Mkundlu, Zylin Du Plessis. Conversions scored by Okuhle Dyani and Likuwe Mkundlu.
ANHS U/16 team lost 12-0 but showed great improvements all around.
The JB’s lost 12-0 but was in the game and just needed to be patient. They showed a lot of heart and guts throughout the match especially in defense which shows the character of this team.
The ANHS Rugby Buffels lost their game 17-7.It was a real tough battle with both sides trying to out muscle their opponents but the Cradock team had just too much flair and pace in their backline and halted every opportunity the Buffels wanted to utilise.
The try was scored by Wium Smith and was converted by Marco Lagenhoven.
